Register now for this special, one-time conference hosted by the Southeast Region honoring its Iyengar lineage with some of the best and most senior teachers in the country.
Join yogis of all traditions and experience levels for a weekend of asana, pranayama, workshops, and community celebrating maitri or friendliness. We gather in Washington D.C. at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, May 3 -6, 2012.
Opening Ceremony and Reception features Fred Smith, Professor of Sanskrit and Classical Indian Religions, Iyengar yoga practitioner, and student of B.K.S. Iyengar and Prashant Iyengar. Fred will share his thoughts on maitri, Iyengar yoga, and a committed yoga practice.

Experience the instruction of Patricia Walden, Manuoso Manos, John Schumacher, Karin O’Bannon, Lois Steinberg, Dean Lerner, and Joan White.
Friday and Saturday include one hour of Pranayama or Chanting, two hours of morning Asana with senior teachers including at least one class with Patricia Walden or Manouso Manos, two hours of afternoon asana, and three discussion sessions with topics including maitri, therapeutics, and Iyengar assessment and certification.
Each day we have a full schedule from 7:30a.m. - 5:30p.m. IYASE volunteers are coordinating dinner circles to promote and share maitri, their community, meals, and their conversation.

IYNAUS Meet & Greet, Iyengar Certification Panel Discussion, & Therapeutics Presentation
In addition to the Opening Ceremony and Keynote Address by Dr. Fred Smith, we have several interesting events scheduled. Friday, there will be an IYNAUS/IYASE Meet and Greet followed by an Iyengar Certification discussion led by Mary Reilly, Certification Chair. Saturday, senior teachers, John Schumacher, Patricia Walden, and Professor Fred Smith, will share their insights on maitri. A presentation on therapeutics will include Manuoso Manos, Dr. Lois Steinberg, Joan White, and Dr. Kimberly Williams.
